How it works

How does FairFares work?

FairFares runs an automated pipeline that monitors 3,000+ European routes and 570 intercontinental routes multiple times daily. It fetches live fares, compares them against months of price history and third-party benchmarks like Google Flights typical price ranges, scores how exceptional each deal is, and publishes the top results. No human curates which deals you see — entirely data-driven.

Are these prices real — can I actually book at this price?

Yes. Every fare shown was live at the moment our pipeline fetched it. Flight prices are dynamic and can sell out or increase within minutes, so we always link directly to Google Flights or the airline so you can check the current price before booking. If the fare has gone, it means demand was high — which confirms it was a genuine deal.

How do I book a deal?

Click any deal card to open the deal detail page, then click the "Book on Google Flights" button. This takes you directly to Google Flights with the route pre-filled. From there you can compare dates, select your preferred airline, and complete the booking directly with the airline — with no markup or middleman fee.

Why are these flights so cheap?

Airlines constantly adjust fares based on seat availability, load factors, and competitive pressure. Flash sales, seat dumps for low-demand departures, and dynamic pricing algorithms all create genuine price anomalies. Our pipeline catches these windows before they close or become widely known.

How often are deals updated?

Deals are updated multiple times per day, automatically. The timestamp on each deal card shows when that specific fare was last confirmed. Popular routes are checked more frequently because price windows close faster.

What is an error fare?

An error fare is a pricing mistake made by an airline — usually a misplaced decimal, a currency conversion error, or a system glitch. These fares are typically 50–70% below the normal market price and are only available for a few hours before the airline corrects them. FairFares Pro subscribers receive real-time alerts so you can book before the window closes.

Coverage & airports

How many routes do you monitor?

FairFares monitors 3,000+ European routes and 570 intercontinental routes multiple times daily across dozens of departure airports. Every route is scored against months of price history so you only see deals that are genuinely exceptional for that specific route.

Which airports do you cover?

We currently cover 60 departure airports across Europe, including Amsterdam (AMS), London Heathrow (LHR), Paris CDG, Frankfurt (FRA), Barcelona (BCN), Stockholm Arlanda (ARN), Copenhagen (CPH), Oslo (OSL), Glasgow (GLA), Vilnius (VNO), Riga (RIX), Tallinn (TLL), Sofia (SOF) and more.

My departure airport is not listed — can I request it?

Yes. We add new airports regularly based on user demand. Send a quick email to hello@fairfaresapp.com with your airport code and we will review it for inclusion in the next coverage update. Most requests are processed within a few weeks.

What types of flights do you show?

We focus on economy-class fares for leisure routes across Europe and select intercontinental destinations. We show both direct flights and flights with short layovers, but a direct flight saving significantly more always ranks higher than a connecting flight with a smaller saving — the score algorithm weights journey quality as well as price.

How far in advance are deals typically available?

Most deals we surface are for travel 2–12 weeks out. Last-minute fares (within 7 days) occasionally appear when airlines dump unsold seats. We rarely see genuine deals more than 6 months in advance, because fares that far out have not yet settled to their market baseline.

Account & alerts

How do deal alerts work (email & Telegram)?

Connect your email or Telegram in Account settings and FairFares notifies you when deals match your home airports. Free accounts receive a daily Telegram digest of the 5 best deals. Plus members get a daily email + Telegram digest from their home airports. Pro members get real-time Telegram alerts the moment a deal is found — with configurable quiet hours so you are never disturbed at night.

Can I set multiple home airports?

Free accounts support one home airport — Telegram alerts are filtered to deals from that airport. Plus subscribers can set up to 5 home airports, Pro up to 15. You can update your airports at any time in Preferences.

Can I filter deals by destination or travel dates?

Yes. On the deals page you can filter by destination region, departure airport, and rough travel window. Premium subscribers get additional filters including maximum travel time and preferred airlines. We intentionally keep filters light — part of the value is discovering routes you had not considered.

Do you have a mobile app?

FairFares is a Progressive Web App (PWA) — no app store required. On iPhone, open the site in Safari and tap "Add to Home Screen". On Android, use Chrome and tap "Add to Home Screen" or "Install app". You get an app-like experience, including push notifications on Pro, without going through an app store.

Free vs Premium

What is the difference between Free, Plus and Pro?

Free gives you a limited selection of deals from 1 European airport and a daily Telegram digest — no card needed. Plus (€3.25/mo billed yearly) adds all European deals, 5 airports, and a daily email + Telegram digest from your home airports. Pro (€5.75/mo billed yearly) adds intercontinental deals, 15 airports, and real-time Telegram alerts with quiet hours.

Can I cancel my premium subscription?

Yes, at any time — no lock-in, no cancellation fees. Go to Account → Subscription and click "Manage billing". This opens the Stripe billing portal where you can cancel, switch plans, or download invoices. After cancelling, you keep access until the end of your current billing period.

How do I change my payment method or billing address?

Go to Account → Subscription and click "Manage billing & invoices". From there you can update your credit card, billing address, and download past invoices.

Trust & data

Do you earn a commission when I book?

Our primary revenue is subscriptions — not commissions. This keeps our incentives aligned with yours: we show the best deals, not the most expensive ones. Some booking links may include an affiliate parameter (for example via Kiwi.com or an airline partner programme), which means we may earn a small percentage if you complete a booking. This never influences which deals we surface or how they are ranked — the algorithm only cares about price.

What currencies are supported?

Prices are displayed in your local currency — EUR, GBP, SEK, NOK, DKK, CHF, or USD — auto-detected from your browser settings, with an option to switch manually. All deals are stored in EUR internally and converted using live exchange rates, so the price you see is always current.

Is my data safe?

Yes. All data is transmitted over HTTPS. Passwords are hashed using bcrypt before storage. We use Supabase with row-level security (RLS), which means our own automated pipelines cannot read your personal data — only you can. Payment processing is handled entirely by Stripe. Read our full Privacy Policy for details.

How is the deal score calculated?

Each fare receives a composite score based on three factors: (1) % below baseline — how far below the route average is this fare? (2) Absolute saving — how much cheaper in absolute terms? (3) Rarity — how often has this route ever been this cheap? These three numbers are combined into a single score. Deals are sorted by score so the most exceptional fares always appear first.

Punten & miles

Refer & earn

How does the referral programme work?

Share your referral link. You earn free months in two ways — when a friend completes onboarding (no payment needed, capped at 3) and when they start paying (uncapped up to 24 total).

TriggerFriend getsYou get
Friend completes onboarding1 month Plus free+1 month (max 3 this way)
Friend starts paying subscription+1 month per payment
Total maximum24 months (2 years free)
Where do I find my referral link?

Your personal link appears in the footer of every page once you are signed in, and on your Account page under "Refer & earn". It looks like: fairfares.app/?ref=xxxxxxxx. You can copy it with one click.

Do I earn something even if my friend never pays?

Yes — for the first 3 friends who complete onboarding, you earn a free month each, no payment required on their end. After those 3 free months, further earning requires your friend to start a paying subscription.

How many months can I earn in total?

24 months — two full years of free access. Each friend who completes onboarding earns you 1 month (up to 3 this way). Each friend who pays earns you another month. The more paying friends you refer, the closer you get to 24.

Still have a question?

We read every email. Usually reply within one business day.
