Official airport taxis are metered and cost approximately Rs 1,500–2,000 (€30–40) to the west coast resorts or Grand Baie — negotiate the zone rate at the official taxi desk, not outside the terminal.

The main and only international airport on the island, located in the south-east near Mahebourg — virtually all European long-haul flights arrive here; Air Mauritius, Air France, British Airways, and Condor operate regular services from Europe.
